Will Remapping Affect My Car's Warranty?
Tuning files by EcoPower Remaps are totally undetectable and they will not affect the vehicle manufacturers warranty in any way.
Many newer cars from approx May 2009 have anti-tune ECU's. The motor manufacturers have taken measures to restrict the remapping of their vehicles. Why? The major reason is so that they can offer the service themselves, through main dealers or through their own approved tuning houses, & charge a premium price in to the bargain. In addition to the anti-tune tricore software, the ECU's are fitted in a cage with security shear bolts that need to be drilled out and then replaced. OBD tuning from within the vehicle is no longer possible, but providing that new security bolts are fitted, the result is still an undetectable remap and no loss of vehicle warranty. Every map that we install is unique to the car that it is installed on, individually tuned to suit the vehicle. With the cheaper maps from some other tuning companies you may get a generic map that is the same for all engines of the same type. Some engine tuners will install files that will seem ok on the surface, but in reality the vehicle's imobiliser has been disabled and the data in the ECU (VIN numbers) will not match the vehicle.
These cheap inferior remaps are very easily detectable by the main dealer and certainly will affect warranties.
