Why Can't I Just Buy a Plug in Tuning Box?

3.It's great that a tuning box can be unplugged when required, but think about this:
If your insurance company knew about the tuning box they would almost certainly void your insurance. In the unfortunate event of an accident it is very unlikely that the driver would be able to, or have time to remove the tuning box.
A good remap, on the other hand, is undetectable (although it should still be declared to your insurance company).
Regardless of how the sellers of tuning boxes promote them they will always cause your vehicle to use more fuel. If your car has an on-board computer, it will often actually show a reduced fuel consumption, this reading is false as the signal that operates the display is taken from the ecu, ie. before the tuning box kicks in more fuel.
Although there's lots of profit to be made from selling tuning boxes, EcoPower Remaps do not sell or recommend them, we never have & we never will. Diesel tuning boxes very often cause excessive smoke and due to engine emission controls can cause the vehicle to go into limp mode.
